HOW TO.... WHAT'S THIS..... NO WAY...... TRICKS.......

HOOKING UP....

Bait Type

We offer ideas and "how to"  methods for rigging your HBF baits. Bait type and intended fishing method are factors in "hooking up"!

Salted Baits:

Our salt-cured baits are fresh dead and immediately placed in the curing process.

Depending on the species and size of bait, salt-curing takes 10-16 days.

Upon finishing the salt-curing, baits are packaged and frozen (below -10F) in vac-sealed bags.

P&P Baits:

HBF may produce one of the best P&P "preserved & processed"  bait available on the market.  Various state regulations  require real fish baits to be sterile.  Our P&P baits retain the natural color, body texture & durability of a live bait.

Frozen:

Our frozen baits are packaged and frozen within an hour of dispatch.  They are held at -10°F (-23°C) until shipping.

Fishing Methods:

Trolling:

Active fishing with down riggers,  lead core or  surface lines towed behind a powered water craft.

Casting:

Active casting & retrieving from a stationary position (waters edge, anchored boat) or from a drifting boat.

Plugging:

This fishing method includes fishing with bobbers or balloons with baits suspended above the bottom, jugging, trot-lining, or bottom drop-lining.
